Transform

What was written over your life can be rewritten. Your story isn't finished.

Heal

Healing doesn't keep a schedule. One honest step today is still a step forward.

Grow

You can grow and grieve in the same season. Both are part of the process.

Rise

Rising isn't pretending it didn't hurt. It's moving even while it does.

Faith

Faith doesn't ask you to have it all figured out, just to keep trusting.

Purpose

The wounds you carry can become the words someone else needs to hear.

Strength

Strength often looks quiet: getting up, showing up, trying again.

Joy

Joy isn't the absence of pain. It's the light that stays when the night is long.

"Never assume someone is okay simply because they look okay. Be gentle with people."

God Has the Last Word

I have been taking a moment to reflect on how good God has been to me, and my heart is filled with gratitude.

Sometimes, we get so focused on what we are praying for next that we forget to stop and appreciate what God is already doing in our lives. Today, I want to take a moment to acknowledge the blessings unfolding in mine.

Professionally, I have been blessed with a promotion into a leadership role. I am grateful for the opportunity to grow, take on greater responsibility, and continue developing my leadership skills. It is a blessing to see my hard work, dedication, and commitment opening doors to new opportunities.

Academically, I am pursuing my Master of Science in Management and Leadership. Balancing work, school, and personal goals requires discipline and determination, but I am proud of the progress I am making. Every assignment completed and every milestone reached brings me one step closer to another goal I once envisioned for myself.

And then there is Healing Light by LaShunda, a business built from my passion for encouraging, inspiring, and empowering others. Watching it grow is a reminder of why I started. Through my writing, workbooks, and inspirational content, my desire is to create meaningful resources that encourage healing, strengthen faith, and remind people that their stories still matter. I am grateful for every opportunity to expand the vision and reach more people through something that comes from my heart.

When I look at these areas of my life, I am reminded that growth can happen in multiple places at once. Our careers can advance, our education can flourish, and the dreams we have been working toward can begin to take shape. Sometimes, we just have to remain faithful to the process long enough to see the fruit of our labor.

But I also know that life is not always easy. There are seasons of disappointment, unexpected challenges, closed doors, and moments when we wonder how things will work out.

That is why I want to encourage someone today.

No matter what life throws your way, God has the last word.

Do not let a difficult season make you question your future. Do not let a setback convince you to abandon your dreams. Do not allow what someone said about you to determine what you believe about yourself.

Keep praying. Keep working. Keep learning. Keep building. Keep trusting God, even when the pieces have not yet come together.

You may not be where you want to be today, but that does not mean you are standing still. Every lesson, every challenge, and every step forward can be part of your growth.

I am learning to celebrate what God is doing now while remaining hopeful for what is still ahead. I do not take these blessings for granted, and I recognize that there is still work to do, more to learn, and more room to grow.

Today, I give God the glory for my career, my education, the growth of Healing Light by LaShunda, and every opportunity that lies ahead.

I am grateful for where I am, thankful for how far I have come, and trusting God with where I am going.

Remember this: Your circumstances do not have the final say. Your past does not cancel your purpose. Your challenges do not define the ending of your story.

Keep the faith. Keep moving forward. God has the last word.

No Weapon Formed Against Me

No weapon formed against me shall prosper.

The enemy may try to destroy you. He may try to break you, discourage you, distract you, and make you believe that you have already lost.

But he cannot succeed.

Because God is on your side.

What was meant to destroy you will not have the final word. What was sent to break you will not determine your ending.

You are covered. You are protected. You are still standing.

No weapon formed against you shall prosper.

God has the final say.

My Healing Journey

I'm learning that healing doesn't always happen quietly.

Some things I carried for years are finally being spoken out loud.

Not for sympathy. Not to hurt anyone. Not to make anyone uncomfortable.

I'm doing this because I am no longer willing to silence myself to protect the comfort of others.

I'm processing old hurts.

I'm confronting what I've carried.

I'm releasing what no longer belongs to me.

And with every truth I allow myself to speak, I create a little more space for the woman I am becoming.

This is my healing journey. This is my authenticity. And I'm not apologizing for either.

A Prayer for This Season

Father God,

I come before You exactly as I am.

Not pretending to be unshaken.

Not pretending I am not tired.

Not pretending that I understand everything happening around me.

You already know.

You know the weight I have been carrying.

You know the battles I have not spoken about.

You know the frustration behind my silence, the exhaustion behind my smile, and the questions I have carried in my spirit.

And yet, Lord, I am still here.

Still standing.

Still believing.

Still chosen.

Still Yours.

So in this season of transition, I ask You to strengthen me from the inside out.

Give me strength that does not depend on circumstances.

When I am emotionally exhausted, strengthen my spirit.

When my mind becomes overwhelmed, give me clarity.

When I cannot understand what is happening, give me discernment.

When I cannot see the whole road, illuminate the next step.

Do not allow confusion to become my compass.

Teach me to recognize what is from You, what is merely noise, what requires my attention, and what I need to release.

Father, sharpen my spiritual discernment.

Let me recognize what I am supposed to learn without becoming consumed by what I am supposed to leave behind.

Give me wisdom to know when to speak.

Wisdom to know when to remain silent.

Wisdom to know when to move.

Wisdom to know when to wait.

And wisdom to recognize the difference.

I refuse to allow this transition to make me smaller.

I refuse to allow frustration to steal my purpose.

I refuse to allow exhaustion to convince me that I have been abandoned.

You have never abandoned me.

You carried me through storms I thought would destroy me.

You brought me through doors I thought would never open.

You gave me strength when I had nothing left to give.

You kept me when I could not keep myself.

So I remember who You are.

And I remember who I am because I belong to You.

Lord, strengthen me to walk in my full capacity.

Not the version of me shaped by fear.

Not the version of me limited by other people's opinions.

Not the version of me exhausted from constantly fighting to be understood.

But the woman You have been developing through every season, every disappointment, every lesson, every closed door, every battle, every victory, and every storm.

Let me walk in the fullness of what You placed inside me.

Give me courage without arrogance.

Authority without pride.

Confidence without comparison.

Discernment without paranoia.

Compassion without allowing myself to be mistreated.

Wisdom without fear.

And strength without losing my tenderness.

Father, where things are falling apart, give me the grace to understand what is ending and the courage to stop trying to resurrect what You are allowing me to outgrow.

Where something needs to be rebuilt, give me the blueprint.

Where something needs to be released, give me the strength to release it.

Where something needs to be confronted, give me wisdom and courage.

Where something needs to be endured, give me endurance.

And where something needs to change, give me the courage to change it.

I will not confuse discomfort with defeat.

I will not mistake transition for failure.

I will not allow a difficult season to rewrite what You have already spoken over my life.

And when the storm gets loud, remind me that I have survived storms before.

Remind me that the storm has never been stronger than the God who carries me through it.

You are my covering.

You are my strength.

You are my refuge.

You are my wisdom.

You are my defender.

You are my peace when everything around me is chaotic.

And because You carry me, I am not defeated.

I may become tired.

I may become frustrated.

I may cry.

I may need to rest.

But I will not surrender my identity, my purpose, my faith, or my future to a temporary storm.

I am still standing because You are still holding me.

So, Lord, take this transition and use it.

Use it to deepen me.

Use it to sharpen me.

Use it to mature me.

Use it to reveal what needs to be revealed.

Use it to remove what needs to be removed.

Use it to position me where I need to be.

And when I emerge from this season, let me recognize myself as someone stronger, wiser, clearer, freer, and more deeply rooted in You.

I do not want merely to survive this transition.

I want to walk through it with power.

I want to walk through it with discernment.

I want to walk through it with clarity.

I want to walk through it knowing that I am covered, guided, equipped, and never alone.

I surrender the things I cannot control.

I release the things I cannot change.

I give You the battles that were never mine to carry.

And I take responsibility for the things You have placed in my hands.

My life belongs to You.

My purpose belongs to You.

My future belongs to You.

And whatever this season is producing in me, I trust You to finish the work.

I will not break.

I will not bow to fear.

I will not abandon myself.

I will not abandon my faith.

I will keep walking.

Even when I cannot see the entire path.

Because I know the One who does.

And if You carried me through every storm before this one,

You will carry me through this one too.

I am not defeated.

I am being strengthened.

I am not lost.

I am being guided.

I am not falling apart.

I am being transformed.

And I will walk into everything You have prepared for me with my head lifted, my spirit strengthened, my mind clear, my discernment sharp, and my faith unshaken.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Trauma Changes More Than We Talk About

One thing about trauma that deserves more conversation:

Trauma can change a person’s relationship with themselves.

It can affect how someone receives love.

How they handle success.

How they respond to criticism.

How they trust their own decisions.

How comfortable they are with peace.

How they interpret someone’s intentions.

And sometimes, even when the danger is gone, the person is still living as though it is present.

That is one of the complexities of trauma.

Healing is not simply about remembering what happened.

It can also be about learning who you are when you are no longer defined by what happened to you.

That distinction matters.

Because a person can survive something and still be discovering how to live beyond it.

As professionals, advocates, and human beings, perhaps one of the most important things we can do is remember that healing is not always visible.

Sometimes the greatest progress is happening quietly, internally, long before anyone else can see it.
