Founder of Healing Light by LaShunda and mental health advocate, on a mission to take the stigma off mental health.
LaShunda Braxton-Nickles created Healing Light to share hope through music and inspirational content. Her work grows from her own journey of faith, strength and healing.
Through behavioral health, she has learned that behavior is often only the part of the story we can see. Understanding matters. Listening matters. And healing is possible, one step at a time.
Her professional work includes supporting people in behavioral health and substance use recovery settings, including veterans. That experience informs her advocacy, workbooks, writing and music. Healing Light is a creative and educational platform. It does not provide therapy, counseling, diagnosis or treatment.

LaShunda speaks openly about her personal experiences in life so others know they are not alone. After many years in nursing care, serving hospice patients and people living with Alzheimer's disease, she began speaking out as a mental health advocate with one message: Take the Stigma Off Mental Health.
Today she leads Healing Light by LaShunda, and every song and post comes from the same place: lived experience, resilience and the choice to rise.
